Springtime brings out the best in everyone. The sun is shining and the weather is warmer, leaving us with inevitable happiness. How can you help spread this feeling to others? We’ve listed some of our favorite ways everyone can serve and give back this spring.
Random Act of Kindness: Give back to someone that isn’t expecting it.
Deliver cards to neighbors or mail them to soldiers, serve at a soup kitchen, leave treats and a note for local postal and delivery service workers, donate new or unused diapers to a local pregnancy center.
Get Outside: Enjoy the warm weather and do good for your local community at the same time.
Organize a neighborhood cleanup, plant a garden and share the produce, give away baby plants after spring propagation,
Give Back to Elderly: Show respect to elders that you wouldn’t normally think of and make sure they are doing well.
Visit the nursing home to deliver cards, adopt an elderly person who may need extra love in their life, offer to help with spring cleaning or yard work.
Spring Clean and Donate: Clean your home and give back to others.
Donate cold weather gear to local shelters, start a spring collection for neighborhood donations, donate toys games to shelter, donate blankets and towels to animal shelters.
Express Gratitude: Give back to people by letting them know they are important.
Write notes to people you are thankful for or who invest in your life, deliver a care package to local fire or policemen, donate needed items to a local school, speak words of encouragement to at least 5 people a day.
Acts of giving back and serving your community don’t always have to be big tasks or volunteering events. Small acts of service can be monumental. Use these tips to serve and give back this spring and don’t forget to tag #DoGood in your social posts!
